Kathryn was so supportive, setting us up to have a great family life with our girl pup Arlo. Kathryn’s knowledge and love for the breed is amazing. With us having a busy 4yr old boy, having someone be so open for us to come and visit the pups often paid off as Arlo has quickly become a part of tour family, both at home and on adventures. She is a beautiful, smart girl that easily adapted to enjoying being in a backpack , being with her humans. We can’t thank Kathryn enough for the journey of getting our girl, right from the start it has been an exciting informative one.

After losing our previous miniature schnauzer, it was too hard to replace him. But with our circumstances soon changed- me retiring and us moving to Christchurch we felt the time was now right. We visited Kathryn at Schondara Schnauzers in Christchurch and fell in love with our boy Zak on our first viewing of the pups. Zak is such good company and has the sweetest nature. Denise and I decided that in retirement we needed a canine companion and after some investigation identified the best of only three registered miniature Schnauzers breeders in Canterbury. There are several breeders out there but none who can match the more than thirty years of importing and breeding high quality miniature Schnauzers. We are so happy with Belladee, she fitted in with our lifestyle so quickly and whether she is walking off lead in one of her favourite parks, playing with the grandchildren, or sitting at the helm of our launch, she is everything we could have asked for.

What a Fantastic process purchasing our miniature schnauzer puppy from Schondara Schnauzers. Kathryn has decades of experience and listened to how our household works and what would be important to us in our puppy’s temperament. Through multiple visits to meet the puppies she helped select our wonderful dog, Gordon, we couldn’t be happier with him, he’s a perfect fit in our lives.

 We couldn’t be happier with our beautiful girl. From the very first moment, 5 years ago, she’s been the perfect mix of intelligence, affection, and personality. I just wanted to say how happy we are with Chester and what a cool wee dude he is. You set things up so nicely for us and he immediately was able to sleep 8 hours, was toilet trained and is just generally a calm and social wee thing. He has his moments of course.

We are thrilled to have Suzi, our second schnauzer from Kathryn. From the very beginning, Kathryn was amazing. We had the opportunity to meet Suzi early on, which allowed us to bond with her before bringing her home. We dropped off our crate, and when we picked her up, Suzi was already crate trained!

Alfred has been in our family for just over 11 years and we couldn't imagine life without him. He has been a complete delight and a real character as well. Despite instructions from Kathryn, we have completely spoilt him as you can see from this photo. His favourite past time is sleeping in my studio while I am painting.

Hector known as ‘Schondara Hector Pascal’, is a real Sea Dog -living on a river boat. Perhaps maybe we got the name wrong, and it should be Rascal!!!! AKA as ‘Entertainment Officer’.

 Astrid known as ‘Schondara Legal Girl’ is a fully-fledged member of the dispute resolution team at Auckland barrister, David Connor’s, Chambers. Astrid checks in to work as “Head of Spiritual Affairs and Witness Assessment”. The most important part of her day is spent attending meetings with clients and expert witnesses, calming those a little stressed. Astrid is loved by all and some clients bring her presents. Astrid has been known to vocalise her agreement while I am on the phone to both clients and lawyers!

Kathryn is a fantastic breeder and knows her schnauzers so well. When Leela came home, she was already familiar with her crate and potty trained. I was given all the information I needed prior to pick up day, so felt very informed. Leela is the most smart, friendly and caring dog who loves all people and gets along well with other dogs. She’s the best decision I ever made! I’m completely sold on the breed now and I definitely recommend miniature schnauzers from Schondara. Best wishes

Our lives changed the day we took our little fella home. The energy in the house was lifted and our new house felt like a 'Proper Home'. With his unconditional love, our handsome Archie is always by our side or hanging out with the teenagers. He provides unlimited cuddles to everyone and is a whole lot of fun.

I wanted to say that Bluebelle is the most delicious dog ever! She’s charming and drapes herself gently over anyone who is willing. She is playful and kind and an absolute delight. Very well behaved and we are so so so thankful we contacted you Kathryn. Thanks for all the years of work that has gone into dogs who are this special.

Luna is our second Schnauzer from Schondara while waiting for the right dog Kathryn kept us updated when there was a pup available that matched our preferences.

I couldn't be happier with the 2 minis from Schondara. Poppi, my current wee girl, is very gentle, loving and is great mates with our kids and cat! I have had Schnauzers for quite a few years now but it wasn’t until Jayme came to live with us that I learned what an absolutely stunning companion she could be. We had dabbled in the sport of Agility and Jayme showed immediate potential. Whilst loving and a great general friend it took a while to realise her huge potential as an agiliteer. It was almost like there was switch in her that turned her from a cuddly toy into a fierce competitor. Jayme knew when it was work time and much of her blended personality was a result of her early nurture. Jayme competed until the age of 13 years, another testament to her breeding. It took a while but we now have another Schondara dog in our ranks, and whilst I asked Kathryn for a clone of Jayme, we find Sascha to be different in many ways, but similar in her trainability and generally loving nature.

Smitten owners from day one..... now one month on.

We collected Molly from Schondara Kennels, the facilities are a doggy heaven, they have lots of indoor and outdoor space with plenty of interactive things to play with. The puppies were kept in a warm cozy area with lovely beds. Molly had been well socialized already by the time we collected her. Kathryn is a fantastic and passionate dog breeder who cares for the puppies wellbeing first and foremost to produce healthy puppies. Molly was vet checked with had her first vaccinations. We were sent home with lots of useful tips for a happy first few days and a care pack. Kathryn is always available for advice after we brought Molly home.

We cant speak highly enough of Kathryn as a breeder, We received our first dog Monty through Kathryn. One of the most impressive aspects of Kathryn’s work is the impeccable health of the puppies she produces. Every puppy we saw was vibrant, alert, and confident.

We have known Kathryn and Schondara Kennels for 30 years and have had four wonderful Miniature Schnauzers from her. Her dogs are friendly quiet dogs that just want to be with us and do whatever we are doing.

When we purchased Archie from Kathryn Snook, she provided us with excellent information on the Miniature Schnauzer Breed, feeding and veterinary requirements.
